RAMAN. is a multi-talented artist who tests the boundaries between melancholy and hope with nothing more than his voice, guitar and soul. His debut album “I do” gives melancholy a place to live, while carving out a space for his own voice: a cosmic journey through self-reflection, loss and rebirth. It invites listeners to surrender to the wild, unpredictable nature of life: a call to reconnect with yourself, your surroundings and the reality you shape, with all the infinite possibilities it holds.

“I do” traces a personal voyage through his twenties: a decade marked by searching, experimenting and reinventing oneself. It documents the struggle with performance anxiety and the suffocating pursuit of perfection: a process of letting go, believing and learning to trust. It’s a search for personal truth, values and inner ground, shaped into sounds that are both fragile and resolute. The album is dedicated to his close friend and mentor, blues musician Tiny Legs Tim (R.I.P.), whose spirit continues to resonate through the music.

In intimate whispers and sweeping melodies, RAMAN. bares his deepest fears and desires. The music breathes honesty: from desolate slide guitars to warm nylon strings, from fragile silence to explosive release. Hovering somewhere between blues and pop, between the ethereal and the earthy, he seeks connection with himself, with his roots and with the listener.

Together with his band (Kris Auman on bass, Sylvester Vanborm on drums), RAMAN. recorded the album with producer and musical guide Koen Gisen. Contributions from David Poltrock (mellotron, keys), Esther Coorevits (viola) and Gisen himself (saxophone, clarinet) lend the album a warm, layered depth. The result sounds more polished than its raw predecessor, the “Birth of Joy” EP (2019), yet it preserves the emotional grit at its core.

Echoes of Jeff Buckley, Chris Whitley and Radiohead can be felt, but above all RAMAN. remains true to himself: a traveller through his own universe, searching for light in the dark.

“I do” is a vow to life itself and to imperfection, change and courage. Born out of loss, carried by hope. An intimate record that offers solace in the unknown.
