Description

Quaranta is Danny Brown’s sixth album, and final album released on Warp Records, with future releases being handled through his own label Bruiser Brigade Records.

“Quaranta” is the Italian translation of the number 40, referring to Danny’s age in 2021.

The album was first revealed under the titles “XXXX”, and later “40”, to directly reference the album being a sequel to Danny’s 2011 album XXX. The change in title would be announced in a 2021 interview with Anthony Fantano, with Danny stating that “It’s not called ‘40’, it’s called ‘Quaranta’. […] I don’t wanna give away too much why, but y’all will figure it out.”

Danny also stated in the same interview that the album would serve as an update of what he has gone through over the last ten years since the release of XXX.
