What To Expect From 2019?

09 Jan 2019

With 2018 behind us, let's have a look at what lies ahead of us in 2019. Which artists are delivering that long awaited new album? Any Belgian releases to look forward too? All records can be pre-ordered here too - find the full list below.

January looks promising already with some killer releases coming from the pressing plants. For lovers of slow grooving electronic music: next week the third 'Elsewhere' compilation by Dj soFa (ELSEWHERE CDXLIV - January 18) will be out via Crevette records. Also, pivotal US figure Steve Gunn (Unseen in Between - January 19) will be releasing his most complex & emotional songs to date on his 4th album. Later this month Kamaal WIlliams bring two deep cuts on a new Ep (New Heights / Snitches Brew - January 25) - both heavily jazz infused electronics.

On that day the long awaited new album 'Fever' by Belgians Balthazar (Fever - January 25) will see the light of day. Other heavyweights Anderson .Paak (Oxnard - January 25) and Beirut (Gallipoli - February 1) are set to release their next full length on vinyl too. Big shot reissues are planned for the classic Nymphs-series by Nicolas Jaar (Nymphs - January 18) & Roisin Murphy's (Overpowered - January 25)

Homegrown Belgian records are to be expected from cult band Dead Man Ray, who announced their comeback with a new Ep (Een - January 11) anticipating the album later this Spring. Zwangere Guy will be releasing his next album on March 1 (pre-order due soon) while Charlotte Adigéry has a new Ep 'Zandoli' ready too on DEEWEE (Zandoli - February 8). More from our soil: full lengths by Tiny Legs Tim (Elsewhere Bound - February 1) & And They Spoke In Anthems (Money Time - February 1) and much anticipated solo work by the artist named Jan Verstraeten on Unday Records (more details soon).

Further on Nottingham post-punk / post anything heroes Sleaford Mods confirmed a new album (Eton Alive - February 22) as did Animal Collective's founder Noah Lennox as Panda Bear (Buoys - February 8). Oldskool comic & Hip Hop giants Czarface will be clashing with Ghostface in February (Czarface Meets Ghostface - February 15) with heavy rhymes & blasting beats.

Not bad, 'ey? All of these records can be pre-ordered below. Subscribe to our newsletter to be informed on upcoming releases here: https://www.musicmaniarecords.be/
