Description

'Mermaid Avenue' is the first installment of the collaboration between Billy Bragg and Wilco centered around previously unreleased lyrics by Woody Guthrie. Bragg and Wilco wrote new music to accompany his lyrics, combining folk, rock, and alt-country. The album includes tracks such as 'California Stars', 'Way Over Yonder in the Minor Key', and 'Ingrid Bergman'. The collaboration brings together Guthrie's lyrics with the musical approach of Billy Bragg and Wilco. 'Mermaid Avenue' was nominated for a Grammy and forms the first part of a series of three albums. This is the 2LP edition on 180-gram black vinyl packaged in a gatefold sleeve.
