Description

Fairuz, the undisputed icon of Lebanese music, presents *Maarifti Feek*, one of her most beloved works from the later phase of her career. The album, originally released in 1987, is the product of the influential collaboration with her son Ziad Rahbani. He enriched her traditional Arabic sound with elements of jazz, funk, and European film music. The lyrics are poetic and steeped in deep melancholy, carried by her timeless voice. It includes the iconic 'Li Beirut', a heartbreaking ode to her ravaged hometown.

Arab world music, with clear influences from jazz, funk, and Western orchestral music.
