Description

The Love Substitutes bring together three former dEUS guitarists, Rudy Trouvé, Craig Ward and Mauro Pawlowski, alongside Bert Lenaerts. Their second album, More Songs About Hangovers and Sailors (2006), takes a more song-focused approach than their improvisational debut, mixing psychedelic rock, off-kilter pop, folk and flashes of noise. With three distinct vocalists sharing songwriting duties, the results are pleasingly unpredictable, drawing on the band's love of Fairport Convention alongside their roots in Belgium's experimental underground.
