Description

Modal Soul is the second and final studio album by influential Japanese producer Nujabes. Originally released in 2005, the album is considered a masterpiece and a cornerstone of jazz-hop. Nujabes uniquely weaves soul and jazz samples with relaxed hip-hop beats, resulting in a melancholic yet hopeful atmosphere. It is a timeless classic that helped lay the foundation for the modern lo-fi hip-hop movement.

The music on Modal Soul is a sophisticated blend of jazz-hop and lo-fi hip-hop. The productions are characterized by the use of samples from jazz and soul, combined with instrumental hip-hop rhythms.
