Description

Metaphorical Music is the legendary debut album by Japanese producer Nujabes. Originally released in 2003, the album is regarded as one of the cornerstones of the genre that would later become known as lo-fi hip hop. Nujabes, pseudonym for Jun Seba, masterfully combines dreamy jazz samples with soulful melodies and tight hip hop rhythms. The result is an instrumental journey that is both melancholic and soothing. This record is an essential work that bridges the gap between traditional jazz and modern beat production.

The music on the album is a fluid blend of instrumental hip hop and jazz-hop. Nujabes' productions are characterized by the use of samples from jazz and soul, creating a relaxed and atmospheric vibe that is often compared to the work of artists like J Dilla.
