Description

Recorded in concert on March 26, 1975, in Paris, the album captures Clifford Jordan in striking form alongside Cedar Walton on piano, Sam Jones on bass, and Billy Higgins on drums. The set includes expressive takes on pieces such as "John Coltrane," the atmospheric "Midnight Waltz," and "One for Amos," offering plenty of room for extended solos and exchanges between tenor saxophone and rhythm section. Critics have already highlighted the band’s cohesive chemistry and Jordan’s distinctive tone; this new edition presents the performance with fresh mastering and updated artwork that underscores the live character of the recording. For listeners who appreciate classic modern jazz performances from the 1970s, the "Night Of The Mark VII" LP provides an authentic and focused document of this concert.
