Reissue of the album "Un beau matin" by Areski Belkacem, a unique artist and longtime collaborator of Brigitte Fontaine and Jacques Higelin. His first album recorded under his own name, originally released in 1971 on the Saravah label. Belkacem, Brigitte Fontaine's partner, released this album the same year as the famous "Comme à la radio," on which the couple collaborated with the Art Ensemble of Chicago. The album features eleven stripped-down, Zen-like tracks adorned with Berber and African percussion. The offbeat, poetic, and dreamlike songs evoke everyday life, social issues, and hallucinations. Inspired, poetic, in a word, essential: "Un Beau Matin" is one of the best albums of the French underground scene, produced by Pierre Barouh on his Saravah label.
