ALBAN is the solo project of musician Alban Sarens. His debut album, 'To Break Your Heart', releases on February 12, 2026, and is the result of a raw and reflective process transformed into sound, shaped by grief and personal transformation.
Over three intense years, Alban turned to his saxophone to give meaning to what words could not express. A musical reflection of mourning, grief and the search for what love truly means. The instrument became his voice, through which he expressed his emotions and thoughts by means of melodies that carry both sorrow and light. It is music that emerges from absence, yet reaches for a warm embrace that tells you: 'It is okay, I am here'. 'To Break Your Heart' is not about despair, but about what can emerge from it. It is a soundscape in which grief deepens into growth and in which music points the way. 'There is only the path we have taken.'
Alban Sarens grew up on the southern outskirts of Antwerp and, after many wanderings, returned to the place where it all began. After the suicide of the mother of his two daughters, he radically changed course. He left his demanding job as artistic coordinator at Trix to dedicate himself fully to music again. That decision led to his debut album 'To Break Your Heart' — a musical reflection of three intense years of mourning, grief, and the search for what love truly means.
