Description

The Japanese group Goat (Jp) is known for their radical and minimalist approach to rhythm. On *Without References*, they create the musical score for a choreography by Swiss dancer Cindy Van Acker. The band builds intense tension with repetitive, mathematical patterns of drums and guitar. Their unique instrumentation, without the conventional bass drum, results in a tight and hypnotic sound. This album explores the pure synergy between percussive music and physical movement.

Goat (Jp)'s music sits at the intersection of experimental rock and minimal music. Their sound is characterized by complex, tribal rhythms and tight, math-rock-inspired guitar lines. The compositions possess the precision of techno but retain a raw, organic intensity that makes the band unique.
