Jacaranda, originally released in 1973, highlights Luiz Bonfá’s refined approach to Brazilian instrumental music, blending the melodic elegance of bossa nova with jazz-influenced harmonies. Known worldwide as one of the composers behind the iconic Black Orpheus soundtrack, Bonfá was also a virtuoso guitarist whose classical technique shaped his distinctive sound.

The album places Bonfá’s guitar at the center of the musical narrative. Rather than relying on vocals, Jacaranda unfolds through expressive melodies and fluid rhythmic patterns, creating a relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere that evokes Brazilian landscapes and moods. Compared with his previous album Introspection, this record feels warmer and more melodic, offering richer harmonies and a more open musical flow. This edition marks the first vinyl pressing of the album since its original 1973 release.
