After TJE worked its way up to become the talk of the town in their home country over the past year, the Belgian trio is aiming for nothing less than an international breakthrough this year. Undoubtedly helping with that is their debut album ‘SCHADE’, which, according to De Morgen among others, is one of the albums to look forward to in 2026.
TJE consists of Lindy Versyck (vocals), Melvin Slabbinck (guitar, drums), and Klaas Leyssen (bass), who explore other musical horizons besides TJE: Versyck regularly appears with Arsenal and Meltheads, Slabbinck drums for Kaat Van Stralen, and Leyssen leads the punk rock band The Yummy Mouths. Add to that Pieter-Jan Decraene, who, as co-writer and producer, is a key link in the creative process and can safely be called the fourth band member. Together, they blend their musical backgrounds and influences into a unique sound that is as infectious as it is indefinable. At the intersection of intense and vulnerable, TJE sounds as raw as it is layered, seeking tension between melody and experimentation. Balancing electronica, melancholic avant-pop, and experimental post-rock, with a focus on atmosphere and emotion. A melting pot that works and results in an intense, hypnotic, and memorable trip live. Just ask Best Kept Secret, Lokerse Feesten, Reeperbahn, Fifty Lab, and Left of the Dial, among others, where they delivered impressive performances in 2025.
