WASTE makes noise. A lot of noise. This Belgian band screams destruction and melancholy in your face. Their sound balances between experimental noise and dark (post-)punk. This results in a hefty cocktail of manic vocal outbursts, pounding drums, and screeching guitar lines. Their music is an outlet: hard, intense, and uncomfortably honest. You *must* see WASTE live. Their live shows are bursting with energy. Be warned, because this band will tear down the stage—sometimes almost literally—and drag the audience into tumultuous mosh pits. Their debut EP, Floating Head, was released in 2022, followed by the singles Urges and Tantrums in 2024.
In 2026, WASTE won De Nieuwe Lichting, Studio Brussel’s annual music competition, which marked the band’s national breakthrough. “Winning De Nieuwe Lichting feels like a starting gun for us. We are proud that our hard, uncompromising sound was able to reach such a broad audience. It gives us the fuel to really go hard now.”

WHAT’S NEXT?!
On March 6, WASTE’s debut album, Scream Until It’s Beautiful, will be released. The album was recorded by Tim De Gieter (Amenra, Doodseskader) at Much Luv Studio. This record sounds deafeningly loud, danceable, and uncompromising. Punk and noise remain the heart of WASTE’s explosive sound, but this time they throw all boundaries overboard. Genres blur, and experimentation takes center stage. Every track feels like an unexpected yank on the wheel. Themes such as mental health, self-acceptance, and societal pressure form the common thread, while the band peppers everything with irony and self-mockery.
