Josh T. Pearson presents his second solo album, 2018's The Straight Hits!, a remarkable shift from 2011's somber and critically acclaimed The Last Of The Country Gentlemen. Released as a limited-edition double LP on colored vinyl, this album marks a conscious choice for a lighter and more direct sound. Pearson wrote the nine original songs in just three days, guided by five strict writing rules he imposed on himself. The result is a collection of accessible songs that get straight to the point, in stark contrast to his earlier, lengthy compositions. The album was recorded in Texas with members of his former band Lift To Experience and The Texas Gentlemen, among others, and also includes a cover of Jonathan Terrell's country tribute "Damn Straight."
