2026 Black vinyl reissue (originally released in 2002). 16 Horsepower's "Folklore" delves deeper into their distinctive, sombre and spiritual interpretation of American and Eastern European traditional songs. The album combines original songs with radically reinterpreted classics, which the band transforms into ritualistic, minimalist yet powerfully charged soundscapes. Banjo, cello, hurdy-gurdy and bandoneon form an archaic foundation that impressively underpins David Eugene Edwards' intense vocals. Folklore remains one of the band's most characteristic and atmospherically dense works: dark, ethereal, hypnotic - an album that dissolves the boundaries between tradition, myth and modern alternative culture.
