Achtung Baby was U2's 7th studio album and was originally released on November 18th 1991 on Island Records.
It re-invented the group into the 90’s with a different sound with influences from alternative rock, industrial music and electronic music.
The album was followed by a massive live Tour ‘The Zoo TV Tour’ with more than 150 concerts worldwide.
Achtung Baby is one of U2's most successful records. It debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 Top Albums.
Five songs were released as commercial singles including "One", "Mysterious Ways", “Even Better Than The Real Thing” and "The Fly".
The album has sold 18 million copies worldwide and won a Grammy Award in 1993 for Best Rock Performance.
Produced by Daniel Lanois and Brian Eno, and recorded between Berlin’s
Hansa Studios and various locations in Dublin, Achtung Baby was released
to critical acclaim in 1991 & is regarded as one of U2’s most seminal
albums. The album featured five singles: ‘The Fly’, ‘Mysterious Ways’, ‘One’,
‘Even Better Than The Real Thing’ and ‘Who’s Gonna Ride Your Wild
Horses’.
