Walter De Buck, founder of the Gentse Feesten, folk singer and sculptor, left behind timeless folk music in the Ghent dialect. 

Violinist and composer Guido Schiffer and singer Pieter-Jan De Smet took the initiative to give those songs a fresh injection. BUCK - which is both the name of the group and the record - chose evergreens from the De Buck book, but also digged up beautiful lesser-known songs. The music is colorful, often with a wonderful mix of strings and wind instruments. And full of pleasant and expressive accents. Gentenaar and musician Pieter-Jan De Smet sings in a genuine and tasty Ghentian, with a lot of empathy and expression. The infectious arrangements by Guido Schiffer and Reinhard Vanbergen revive the lyrics. You discover them again. And above all, they give Walter De Buck's oeuvre and also the Ghent dialect a place in our time.
