Description

Placebo’s 1996 debut album is often regarded as a defining moment in British alternative rock. The record launched the band straight to the forefront of the scene, thanks in part to the unique, androgynous voice of frontman Brian Molko. The sound combines the raw energy of punk with the theatrical flair of glam rock. Songs like ‘Nancy Boy’ and ‘Teenage Angst’ became anthems for a generation that did not feel at home in the prevailing Britpop. This Re:Created edition brings that iconic album back into the spotlight, supplemented with extra material.

The musical style is a mix of alternative rock, glam rock, and post-punk, featuring characteristic nasal vocals and sharp guitar riffs.
