Description

La Ragazza Fuoristrada is the third and final chapter of the cinematic trilogy that director Luigi Scattini dedicated to Zeudy Araya. Compared to the previous installments (La Ragazza Dalla Pelle di Luna ET 909 / Il Corpo ET 933), the soundtrack of La Ragazza Fuoristrada takes a decidedly funkier, soul-driven direction. In fact, Piero Umiliani himself publicly stated that this was one of his favorite scores.

Blending jazz, soul, funk, psychedelia, and orchestral music with incredible finesse and sensitivity, Umiliani’s compositions are as captivating as they are diverse. The standout funky track Le Ore Che Contano, featured here in both its original and previously unreleased versions, were aired on BBC’s Worldwide program (broadcast in Italy by Radio Montecarlo) and even charted in some of Gilles Peterson’s top picks.

Listening to the psychedelic-beat rhythms of La Rinuncia, the classical atmosphere of Nostalgia, or the electrifying beat-sound of Senza Tregua, it’s clear just how universally appealing this album is. It’s a testament to the Maestro’s unparalleled musical vision.

This album marks the final collaboration between Piero Umiliani and Easy Tempo producer Rocco Pandiani, setting the stage for a new wave of reissues dedicated to one of Italy’s most respected and influential musicians.
