Description

With It Was Written, Nas presented the ambitious successor to his legendary debut Illmatic in 1996.

The rapper from Queensbridge traded the raw, documentary style for a more polished and cinematic approach. Under the alias Nas Escobar, he explores themes of wealth and crime, which earned the album a central place in the mafioso rap genre. Thanks in part to the iconic single 'If I Ruled the World (Imagine That)' featuring Lauryn Hill, this became his commercial breakthrough that transformed him into a global superstar. The album established Nas as an artist capable of conquering both the streets and the charts.

Now the album is reissued in a 2 LP version.
