The deluxe edition of Sylvie Kreusch's second album, "Comic Trip Deluxe," will be released on October 24, 2025, featuring four brand-new tracks. One of these is the latest single, "Crack My Mind"—a sparkling fever dream that illustrates happiness as an endless merry-go-round.
"I see all my songs in a very visual way," Sylvie says of the track. "When I think of 'Crack My Mind,' I see an old fairground attraction, a carousel with those old horses. But then 'on acid.' Adults briefly rediscovering their childishness and falling in love all over again." Besides "Crack My Mind," the previous single, "Cloud 9," is also featured on "Comic Trip Deluxe." The album also includes the rousing "Justice Breeze" and a cover version of "Storybook Children," originally performed by Dries Holten and Sandra Reemer in 1968.
Sylvie, however, drew deeper inspiration from Lee Hazlewood and Nancy Sinatra's version—a combination of romantic flair and childlike innocence that seamlessly aligns with the style and theme of 'Comic Trip Deluxe'. "We hadn't done many covers before, and I really liked this one because it could easily have been a song I'd written for 'Comic Trip Deluxe,' so it was a great match." The captivating, cinematic 'Justice Breeze' captures the sense of adventure so characteristic of 'Comic Trip Deluxe,' but also the seductive, dark imagination of Sylvie's earlier work—specifically in songs like 'Seedy Tricks' and 'Please To Devon'.
'Justice Breeze' is a story about a group of female pirates taking revenge on a man who has mistreated them. I found it very interesting to talk about female pirates, because there's little mention of them in history books, like Mary Read and Anne Bonny. It was a lot of fun writing in such a visual way, and it also ties in well with ‘Comic Trip’ as an album.”
