Met Live '78 verschijnt dertig jaar na zijn overlijden het eerste live album van Wim De Craene. Het album is voor het grootste deel opgebouwd rond nummers uit het album "Wim De Craene .... is ook nooit weg" dat een jaar eerder verscheen. Begeleidingsband Headband steekt de liedjes in een licht jazz-rock jasje. Ook de klassiekers Tim en Rozane ontbreken niet en ondergaan een gelijkaardige behandeling. Live '78 laat één van Vlaanderens meest getalenteerde artiesten horen op misschien wel het toppunt van zijn kunnen. Deze unieke live sessie werd opgenomen in Sterrebeek in 1978 voor het BRT radioprogramma "Dorp Bij de Stad".
