Sometimes, art and life, dreams and reality become so tightly woven together that they’re impossible to separate. That’s exactly what Jan Verstraeten explores in his new EP, Sailor Gets Seasick Too. 

Built on poetic visions and real-life tragedy, the project reflects on human vulnerability in the face of hardship. Inspired by a strange dream of a man sailing toward the moon, the EP took on a deeper, more personal meaning when Jan lost his best friend. He paid tribute to him through the song Wanna Sail. In the end, the message became clear: even the strongest among us can falter—just like seasoned sailors can still get seasick in the middle of a storm. The EP navigates themes of grief, solitude, and the battle with inner demons. Poetic yet tragic, these ideas run through the entire project, shaping an intimate and enigmatic body of work.
