After the experimental album Tusk, Fleetwood Mac returned to a more accessible pop sound in 1982 with Mirage. The band's thirteenth studio album is full of expertly crafted songs, carried by the distinctive harmonies and songwriting of Lindsey Buckingham, Stevie Nicks, and Christine McVie. The record produced several worldwide hits, including 'Hold Me', 'Love in Store', and the classic 'Gypsy'. The album marks a commercial high point and cemented the band's superstar status in the early 1980s.

Musically, the album falls within the Pop Rock and Soft Rock genres, featuring refined production typical of that period.
