There Is Beauty, There Already finds award-winning drummer, composer, and producer Sarathy Korwar returning to the instrument that shaped his musical identity.

Conceived as a continuous longform suite, the album delves into the melodic and emotional possibilities of percussion, drawing from Indian folk traditions, jazz drum ensembles, and minimalist classical forms. Recorded over four days at Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios with fellow drummers Photay, Magnus Mehta, and Joost Hendrickx, the music unfolds in circular, hypnotic patterns that evoke constant motion and meditative intensity.

From tabla and ghatam to drum kit, marimba, balafon, and Buchla modular textures, Korwar shapes a deeply immersive work that celebrates rhythm as both narrative and transformation. Released on his own new imprint, Otherland, the album marks a bold and personal new chapter in Korwar’s artistic journey.
