Description

Four years after the singles from ‘FOREVER’ made it onto KEXP, Belgian indie rockers TEEN CREEPS return with a new album.

On ‘TODAY IS THE DAY’, singer Bert Vliegen processes a breakup and learns to be happy again. “No matter how hard it gets, there’s always light at the other side of the tunnel. That’s the message of the record” he says. Musically, the band radiates confidence. TEEN CREEPS expertly weaves '90s influences into a modern indie rock sound. On the anthemic single ‘ANYWHERE’, you can hear as many traces of JAPANDROIDS as DINOSAUR JR. At the same time, the atmospheric ‘WINDOWS OPEN’ and the restrained ‘AUTOMATICALLY’ explore new terrain for the band. “Our heroes are and will always be the indie rock bands from the 1990s. But we are not a retro band. We merely want to carry the torch of this genre, or at least keep the fire burning,”
