Unknown Mortal Orchestra's "Curse" is a dark, riff-driven album that draws heavily on influences from psychedelic rock and the doomy seventies. The album is characterized by an intense, almost cinematic atmosphere, inspired by Italian horror cinema and a sense of oppression that resonates with the current zeitgeist. The opening track, "Aura," immediately sets a mysterious, even ominous tone with whispering vocals and electronic sounds, while "Boys With The Characteristics Of Wolves" stands out with its heavy, fuzz-like guitars reminiscent of Black Sabbath.
