Description

“Soundcity Joburg - South Africa's Township Soul 1969-1981” is featuring 22 of the finest Township Soul songs that emerged between 1969 and 1981 from the extraordinary music scene of Johannesburg.

During the 1960s and 1970s, the city of Gold became a melting pot of musical ideas as musicians competed and collaborated, pushing each other forward to create, experiment and fuse American soul, funk, disco with traditional South African rhythms and jazz.
