Description

With the new edition of the Rare Groove Collection, we delve into the vibrant soundscape of North Africa. This double LP brings together rare tracks from Algeria, Morocco, Libya, and Tunisia, created between the late 1970s and early 1980s—a time when traditional rhythms collided with soul, funk, and disco. The compilation presents an electrifying mix of hypnotic grooves, driving basslines, and soulful vocals, inspired by sounds from across the Atlantic. Artists such as Faboul, Freh Khodja, Vigon, Abranis, Faraji, Raina Raï, Malik Adouane, and Najib Alhous represent an era of musical transgression, where cultural identity and global influences merged in fascinating ways.
