Soul Jazz Records explores the rich archives of Discos Fuentes, the legendary Colombian label nicknamed the Motown of Colombia. With Latin Fire!, the label showcases cult artists like Fruko, The Latin Brothers, Michi Sarmiento, Afrosound, Pedro Laza, Wganda Kenya and many others, revealing the full sonic diversity shaped by Discos Fuentes. From cumbia of the 50s and 60s to hardcore salsa and afro-funk of the 70s and 80s, this compilation celebrates the label's golden age and its role in the global diffusion of Afro-Colombian music. Between influences from New York barrios, salsa, zouk and soka, Discos Fuentes has forged a unique and danceable style: that of Tropical music made in Colombia.
